PURPOSE:To obtain a novel polymer, having unsaturated double bonds in the polymer structure, and utilizable in a wide range, e.g. adhesives, without containing substantial gel parts, by modifying a high-molecular weight crystalline 1,2-polybutadiene by high polymer reaction for the unsaturated double bonds. CONSTITUTION:5-45% unsaturated double bonds in a crystalline 1,2- polybutadiene having >=75% 1,2-bonds in the unsaturated double bonds, 60-170 deg.C melting point and >=0.2 reduced viscosity (etasp/c) (measured using tetralin solution in 200mg/100ml concentration at 100 deg.C) are epoxidized, and the resultant epoxidized polybutadiene is heated in the presence of a secondary amine, e.g. N-methylaniline or diallylamine, to open 5-45%, based on the unsaturated double bonds before epoxidation, epoxy rings.
