PURPOSE:To enhance releasability of the titled sheet from an image-receiving material, by a method wherein a coloring material layer comprising a sublimable dye is provided on a base, and a protective layer is provided thereon. CONSTITUTION:The transfer recording sheet is produced by applying a sublimable thermal transfer ink to the base, followed by drying, and providing the protective layer thereon. The base may be a tissue paper such as a condenser paper and a glassine paper or a plastic film based on a polyester or a polyamide. An ink is prepared by adding a nonionic sublimable dye and a dispersant to a solvent or water used as a medium, finely dispersing the additives in the medium, and mixing the dispersed material with a binder resin. The nonionic sublimable dye may be an azo dye, an anthraquinone dye, a nitro dye or the like. The protective layer is constituted of a heat-resistant resin, a mixture of a heat-resistant resin and inorganic particles, a thin metallic film or the like. The heat-resistant resin may be, for example, a water-insoluble resin such as methyl cellulose and hydroxyethyl cellulose having a melting point of not lower than 150 deg.C. |
