PURPOSE:To realize constantly comfortable indoor environments by selecting an operational mode in accordance with the installation position of the apparatus by causing a deflecting operation of a blow-off airstream optimum for each installation position. CONSTITUTION:A selection switch 13 for indicating the installation position of the apparatus selects any of installation positions (a), (b) and (c) of the apparatus within the room 4. A control circuit within a controller 12 comprises a selecting part 17 carrying out the selection of an operational mode depending upon the contact position of the selection switch 13, a storage part 19 storing three operational modes 18a, 18b and 18c corresponding to positions (a), (b) and (c), and a motor control circuit 20 for carrying out the control of a vertical vane 8 and a horizontal vane 9, based on a predetermined operational mode selected and the output of a temperature sensor 11. The motor control circuit 20 rotates first and second step motors 14 and 16 at a predetermined angle, and also rotates a horizontal zone 8 and vertical vane 9 to deflect the blow-off airstream toward a predetermined direction.
