PURPOSE:To contrive to operate the air conditioner only when a commercial power source frequency is coincident with the designated frequency by a method wherein a power source frequency judging circuit is provided for judging a power source frequency of a commercial power source, and a short-circuit contact is provided to be opened and closed by the judging circuit and for cutting off a circuit-breaker. CONSTITUTION:Load lines 25, 25 and control lines 26, 26 are provided on a commercial power source 1, a load composed of an indoor fan motor 2 and 1 or an outdoor unit 3 are coupled to the load lines 25, 25, and a control circuit is coupled to the control lines 26, 26 via a power source transformer 27. A power source frequency judging circuit 6 is provided for judging the power source frequency of the commercial power source 1. A circuit-breaker 4 composed of a fuse is inserted into the primary side 29 or secondary side 30 of the power source transformer 27. Further, a short-circuit contact is provided for cutting off the circuit-breaker 4 which is arranged in parallel with the primary coil 29 or the secondary coil 30 and is opened/closed by the power source frequency judging circuit 6.
