PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of shrinkage by forming a gap between a cylinder body and the flanges for installation which are integrally formed with the cylinder body and integrally forming a plurality of special ribs into the gap, thus preventing the formation of a thick part in the connection part with the flange for installation. CONSTITUTION:A master cylinder 10 consists of a cylinder body 11 as main body and a reservoir 12 for storing working liquid. The master cylinder 10 is installed onto the chassis side by utilizing the flanges 40 and 41 for installation which are arranged onto the outer wall of the cylinder body 11. In this case, a gap 42 is formed between the flanges 40 and 41 for installation and the cylinder body 11, and a plurality of special ribs 43 are arranged in the gap part 42. The flanges 40 and 41 for installation are formed integrally with the cylinder body 11 through each rib 43. Therefore, no thick part is formed on the connection part with the cylinder body 11, and the generation of can be effectively prevented.
