PURPOSE:To facilitate operation and reduce the consumption of electric power by automatically operating a hand warmer apparatus by controlling the electric conduction applied into a heating body after detecting the electric resistance value of an electrically-conductive rubber which serves as a heating body and a pressure sensing resistance element which are arranged in the grip part. CONSTITUTION:A conductive rubber 3 which serves as a heating body and a pressure sensing resistance body is buried into the grip part of a steering wheel 1, namely into the rim part 2. The control heater driver 11 of a controller 5 is connected to one edge of the conductive rubber 3, and the other edge is grounded. The electric resistance of the conductive rubber 3 is digital-converted by the A/D converter 12 of the controller 5 and input into a microcomputer 13. Further, a temperature sensor 9 for detecting the temperature of the rim part 2 and a temperature sensing limit switch 10 for preventing the excessive rise of the temperature of the rim part 2 are buried into the rim part 2. Therefore, when a prescribed grip force is applied onto the rim part 2, the heating body 3 is put into electric conduction by the controller 5, and the rim part 2 is heated to a prescribed temperature. |
