PURPOSE:To reduce the grinding volume of single gear face in a gear grinder employing a screw grinding wheel by rotating a work while gearing the grinding wheel with a gear and coupling the work with main shaft upon matching of the gearing phase. CONSTITUTION:While gearing a grinding wheel 4 with the gear of work W held at the tail center, said wheel 4 is rotated. Consequently, the work W is rotated. Here, the clamp for transmitting the rotary force is separated from the work clamp mechanism. Consequently, the work W will rotate together with the work clamp mechanism and the tail center thereby the rotary mass is low. Upon matching of the gearing phase between the grinding wheel 4 and the gear of work 4, said clamp mechanisms are coupled. With such arrangement, excessive grinding of single gear face is prevented resulting in reduction of single gear face grinding volume. |
