PURPOSE:To obtain a decorative sheet having a brightly produced latent pattern, by applying thermoplastic synthetic resin compositions having different colors and/or presence of a foaming agent in a pattern to a sheetlike material, and removing physically the film surface of the above-mentioned resin compositions. CONSTITUTION:A decorative sheet obtained by applying thermoplastic synthetic resin compositions, having different colors and/or amount and presence of a foaming agent, and consisting essentially of polyvinyl chloride, etc. to a sheetlike material, e.g. paper or woven or knitted fabric, in the form of a pattern by the screen coating method, expanding the resultant sheet under heating to give a foam sheet consisting of the above-mentioned compositions having different colors and/or expansion densities, and removing the surface of the composition films by a means of slicing or buffing, etc., to produce brightly the latent pattern. The pattern obtained by the above-mentioned method is very clear without disappearing even by abrasion.
