This sofa-bed is of the type for sleeping in the longitudinal direction, whose structure is formed by a support frame 2 and by two essentially identical frames 4, 5, articulated to each other, the one extending in an essentially horizontal direction to form the seat of the chair (sofa) and the other extending in an essentially vertical position to form the backrest of the chair (sofa). According to the invention, the frame 4 of the seat and the frame of the backrest are articulated at 20 to each other independently of the support frame 2 of the sofa and the frame of the backrest of the sofa is articulated to the support frame 2 by means of an articulation arm 45 forming a tie-rod and articulated by each of its ends respectively to the frame of the backrest and to the support frame. Each frame 4, 5 is fitted with a pair of wheels, respectively 24, 21, serving as its first resting point on the ground, a second resting point being formed by the support frame 2, and, when the sofa is in its sleeping position, by the wheels 21 of the frame 5 for the frame 4. <IMAGE>
