PURPOSE:To make a caulking groove formable simply and automatically, by letting both upper and lower molds of a caulking mold perform their slide motions relatively as pressing them to a metal wire, while interposing an abrasive between both abrasive surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Centering on a metal wire 1 having curvature of an outer circumferential surface being almost equal to that of an inner circumferential surface of a caulking groove 4, an upper mold 2 and a lower mold 3 are set up at both sides of the metal wire. And, while pressing these molds to the metal wire 1, the metal wire 1 is made to go up simultaneously with its rotation, and diamond powder 5 or the like is applied to a contact friction surface between the metal wire 1 and these upper and lower molds whereby these upper and lower mold are ground, forming the caulking groove 4. At this time, a part of the diamond powder 5 is forcedly sunk in a surface of the metal wire 1, and as constituting an abrasive wire rod 1a automatically, the caulking groove 4 is formable in an end part of the mold made up of a cemented carbide material or the like, owing to this abrasive wire rod 1a. |
