PURPOSE:To facilitate the production of the enzyme film suitable for constituting an enzyme electrode which is equipped with an H2O2 electrode by forming the enzyme gel layer on a resin layer, with regard to the enzyme film for the enzymeelectrode where the resin layer is disposed so as to bring into contact with the active surface of a Clarke-type electrode. CONSTITUTION:The enzyme film is constituted by forming the enzyme gel layer on a homogeneous resin layer through which only a low-molecular substance coated on a porous reinforcing agent can permeate. A crosslinking agent having two functional groups capable of reacting with the enzyme is added to an enzyme solution to be solidified to make the mixture which is spread on the resin-coated reinforcing agent, thus the enzyme gel layer is obtained. Since the enzyme gel layer is reinforced by the reinforcing agent, it has enough strength, through it is thin, and a plenty amount of the enzyme can be formed as the enzyme layer. The thickness of the enzyme film can be controlled in accordance with the thickness of the reinforcing agent and the concentration of the resin to be coated, so the reproducibility of the film characteristics can be secured easily. In this manner, the enzyme film is obtained only by coating the resin and enzyme on the reinforcing agent, so said enzyme film can be produced easily and inexpensively. |
