PURPOSE:To eliminate the tracking misses of the titled disk at high temps. and humidity by using a biaxial oriented film of specified aromatic polyester as the base material, and providing a magnetic layer on the base material. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer is provided on the biaxial oriented film of aromatic polyester consisting of an ester unit of an acidic component consisting essentially of 6,6'-(ethylenedioxy)-di-2-naphthoic acid and a diol component consisting essentially of ethylene glycol and/or 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, and the disk is obtained. The 6,6'-(ethylenedioxy)-di-2-naphthoic acid is the aromatic dicarboxylic acid shown by formula 1. The content of the ester units in the aromatic polyester is preferably regulated to >=50% of the total repeating units, or further to >=70%, or especially to >=80%. The intrinsic viscosity of the aromatic polyester is controlled to >=0.4, or preferably to >=0.5.
