The invention relates to a wood treating chamber with a wood drying device. According to the invention, the region, in which corrosion-sensitive units of the wood drying device are situated, can be partitioned off in relation to the remaining part of the chamber by closure elements, so that the chamber, when the closure elements are closed, can then also be used for steaming wood without the very aggressive atmosphere arising in the process being able to cause damage to the sensitive units of the wood drying device.
