PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having superior light resistance and forming an image undergoing little increase in yellow stain or little deterioration in the gamma-value and having superior color reproducibility by incorporating a specified heterocyclic compound contg. nitrogen as a magenta coupler and a specified metallic complex salt. CONSTITUTION:A coupler represented by formula I (where Z is a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form a heterocyclic ring contg. N and having optionally a substituent, X is H or a group which can be eliminated by a reaction with the oxidized product of a developing agent, and R is a substituent having C bonding directly to the ring and having one bonded H atom, e.g., isopropyl) and a complex salt represented by formula II or III (where each of X<1>, X<2> and X<4> is O, S or -NR<10>; R<10> is H, alkyl, aryl or hydroxyalkyl; X<3> is OH or SH; Y is O or S; each of R<1>, R<2> and R<3> is H, alkyl or aryl; each of R<4>-R<9> is alkyl, aryl, NH2 or the like; R<4>-R<9> may form 5- or 6-membered rings by combination; M is a metallic atom; and each of a, b, c, d, e and f is 0-4) are incorporated into a silver halide photographic sensitive material so as to obtain a fast and clear color image. |
