PURPOSE:To cut electric power consumption and elongate battery life, by an arrangement that, after detection of the highest reading, the power source is cut off automatically after the specified length of time, the reading which was indicated previously will be indicated at the following application of the source. CONSTITUTION:An electronic clinical thermometer is constructed with temperature measuring circuit consisting of temperature measuring oscillator 1, temperature sensitive resistance 2, temperature measuring counter 3, etc., highest reading storing circuit 8 storing the highest reading by comparing successively measured temperatures with a comparing circuit 9, and indicating circuit 10, etc. indicating the content of the circuit 8. And, as the circuit 8 is provided with a nonvolatile storage, an automatic power-off circuit 11 operates the specified time after detection of the highest reading, the content of the circuit 8 is transferred to the nonvolatile storage when the source is cut off. When the source is applied again, the content of the nonvolatile storage is indicated 10 or the content is transferred to the circuit 8 for indicating 10 the content of the highest reading. Further, if the switch connecting the source is kept connected for a time longer than the specified length of time, the content held in the circuit 8 is reset for resumption of detection of temperature. |
