PURPOSE:To facilitate the insert of a socket, by relatively vibrating an article to be measured and the socket. CONSTITUTION:When a high speed FP type IC (a high speed IC having leads protruded to four directions from the side surface of a package) is fed to this side of a socket 11 by the rails of a feeder 23, said IC is sucked by a feed arm 28 is fed to the socket 11 to be fallen thereon. When the leads of IC22 are not positionally aligned with the socket 11 and brought to a shift state, vibration is applied to a vibration plate 14 respectively in horizontal and vertical directions by vibration motors 17, 18 through vibration conductors 19, 20, and the socket 11 and IC22 relatively vibrate and the leads of IC22 are positionally aligned with the terminals of the socket 11. Thereafter, a pusher 29 is fallen to press the leads of IC22 and the measurement of characteristics is performed while IC22, which is judged as a good product as the result of measurement, is fed to a feed mechanism by a feed arm 32 while one judged as an inferior product is received in an inferior product box.
