PURPOSE:To color cherry leaves easily to bright and uniform green color, by adding a specific amount of sodium ascorbate and sodium (meta) phosphate to salt water to give a pickling solution, dipping cherry leaves in the resultant solution and pressurizing the cherry leaves in an airtight vessel. CONSTITUTION:(A) 1-5wt.% sodium ascorbate, (B) 1-5wt.% sodium metaphosphate and (C) 0.1-1wt.% sodium phosphate are added to salt water having 10-25 Baume degree to form a pickling solution. Raw cherry leaves washed with water are dipped in the resultant pickling solution and an inner lid is placed on the inner lid to pickle the cherry leaves for several days. The completely pickled cherry leaves are then pressurized in an airtight vessel to color and process the cherry leaves to uniform green color of good quality in a very short time. |
