PURPOSE:To stabilize the ignition of auxiliary fuel to surely and smoothly ignite and burn main fuel, by forming main and auxiliary fuel passages in a fuel injection valve so that the auxiliary fuel is injected prior to the injection of the main fuel by a predetermined time. CONSTITUTION:Main fuel passages 50, 52, 54 for introducing alcohol as main fuel from a tank 12 and auxiliary fuel passages 56, 58, 60, 62, 64 for introducing light oil as auxiliary fuel from a tank 16 are formed in a fuel injection valve 10, and are opened to a pressure chamber 34. A nozzle needle 32 is urged in the valve closing direction by means of a pressure spring 36, and a valve opening pressure control means 72 is attached to the upper section of the spring 36. At first the control means 72 lowers the valve opening pressure to inject a low pressure auxiliary fuel, and after a predetermined time elapses, the valve opening pressure is raised to inject a high pressure main fuel. |
