Recovering solvents from materials loaded with solvents and water succeeds with improved efficiency in a unit composed of components A and B, where in unit A, through which the materials are continuously passed, solvents and water are removed from the materials with the aid of air which leaves the unit laden with solvent and water, and the air is freed from solvent in a subsequent unit B, in such a manner that the solvent- and water-laden air is removed from the unit A by suction, is cooled and separated from solid particles in the first part of the unit B, which is configured as two stages, is freed from solvent in the second part of the unit B by an absorption column and is finally discharged to the surroundings.
