<p>In combination with a printer, such as an electrophotographic copier, a display (61) is provided that is programmed to provide an image of the format of a copy sheet selected to receive the copied image of a document. Means are provided to adjust the display (61) to allow the operator to adjust a viewable delineation (67, 68) between an image area (70, 71) and a margin area (64, 69) on the display (61). Also on the display (64) is an indication of which portion of the margin area (110, 111) will be hidden when the copy sheet is bound into, for example, a stapled set. Adjustments to the display (61) are used in adjusting the timing of a flash exposure of the document on a photoconductor. After development of the image on the photoconductor, the image is transferred onto a copy sheet of the format size selected. The image on the copy sheet will be formed on the copy sheet in accordance with the margin adjustments (64, 69) made on the display (61). In a preferred embodiment, the display (61) simultaneously illustrates both sides of a copy sheet format. The illustration shows a portion of the front side (63) and a portion of the back side (66), the latter appearing as a fold in front of the former.</p> |
