PURPOSE:To prevent in advance a long time system stop due to a floppy error by displaying replacing period of the floppy disc to urge floppy replacement. CONSTITUTION:In turning on a power, a POS terminal device 1 reads a program to be resident in a memory and a data from a floppy disc 4 and loads them to the memory in the device 1. The program is executed according to the job to read/write data. When the same position is read/written twice or over succeedingly, the number of times is added to a number of time count data in the memory. When the count data exceeds a designated value, it is discriminated that the disc 4 in operation causes a floppy error probably, the indication of floppy replacement is outputted to a display device 3 to urge replacement. On the other hand, the number of time count data in the memory is written on the disc 4 from the memory at the end of job and the number of time count data is stored at each disc.
