PURPOSE:To decrease remarkably an overhead due to intervention of a VM monitor by assigning registers such as an operation register and an instruction address register to each virtual computer VM and using VM identification information to attain direct access. CONSTITUTION:A processor functioning as a ream computer in a virtual computer system is provided with operation registers such as an address and a data register 21, 22 selected by one group, an instruction address register 23 and a selection circuit 24 selecting the register group and a circuit 25 storing information identifying each VM. Then the selection circuit 24 selects one group of register in response to VM identification information, which is used by the corresponding VM. Thus, each VM is assigned exclusively with one group of register. Moreover, a VM monitor is regarded as a VM, to which one group of register is assigned. Further, the VM monitor designates the register group assigned to an optional VM and accessed, then the system is more effective.
