PURPOSE:To obtain an image superior in reproducibility of thin lines and gradation by adding a specified quinoline type compd. at least on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The charge donor for developing an electrostatic charge image has at least on the surface a quinoline type compd. epresented by the formula shown here, one of R1-R6 being independently, H, alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or acyl. The use of such a charge donor permits images obtained by electrophotography, electrostatic recording, electrostatic printing, or the like to be extremely small in density charge for a long period, good in reproducibility of thin lines and gradation, low in fog, and superior in durability tests. |
