PURPOSE:To provide an oxygen generator which generates O2 smoothly without need of pressurization or heating, prepared by packing a substance which reacts with water to generate O2 and a specified water-absorbing resin in a water- and oxygen-permeable bag and putting the bags in a rigid container. CONSTITUTION:A water- and oxygen-permeable bag containing a substance (a) which reacts with water to generate O2 (e.g. manganese peroxide) and a water-absorving resin (b) which, when expanded by absorbed water, has a larger volume than a rigid container (e.g. hydrolyzed starch/acrylic acid graft copolymer)is placed in a rigid container 1 which stands inner pressure caused by expansion of the resin (b) and a water-and oxygen-permeable cover 2 weigh ing 30-50g/m<2> which stands the above inner pressure is put on the container. Used as oxygen generator for transport of live fish, etc.
