PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of data by transmitting the data in a transfer speed designated from an information transfer device at transmission side, allowing a collation means to apply collation between the transmission data and reception data for the response from the reception side and transferring the result in the collated transfer speed. CONSTITUTION:The transfer speed designated by a central processing unit is stored in a speed switch register 1 of an A station 1. A control circuit 12 reads the transfer speed and transmits the data representing the transfer speed and a switch data representing the transfer speed switch timing via a register 13. A B station 2 inputs the said data to a detection circuit 23 to extract the transfer speed data and the switch data, a control circuit 22 applies speed switch into the transfer speed, the said data is set to a register 25 to transmit a response signal to the A station 1. The station A uses the detection circuit 16 to extract the said data from the B station 2, the control circuit 12 compares it with the content of the register 13, and when they are coincident, the said data is transmitted to the B station 2 to start communication. When dissident, the above procedure is repeated by using a lower transfer speed than the above speed.
