PURPOSE:To obtain an image superior in reproducibility of thin lines and gradation by adding a specified tetrazole deriv. at least on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The charge donor for developing an electrostatic charge image has at least on the surface a tetrazole deriv. represented by formula (I), one of R1-R4 being H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, or a heterocyclic group contg. N, S, or O, Y being alkylene, cycloalkylene, arylene, or aralkylene, and X<-> being BF<->4, PF<->6, or formula II or III. The use of such a charge donor permits images obtained by electrophotography, electrostatic recording, electrostatic printing, or the like to be extremely small in density change for a long period, good in reproducibility of thin lines and gradation, low in fog, effectively usable in color development, and extremely high in image sharpness. |
