PURPOSE:To obtain a copy image having always high quality by providing a means for prohibiting the movement of a carrier in the stage of copying. CONSTITUTION:The film carrier 1 is constituted of the 1st stage 50 which is movable in a direction x and the 2nd stage 51 is disposed to the stage 50 and is movable in a direction y. The stage 50 is disposed to a base plate 52 installed to a body of a reader printer and moves in the direction x on the surface of the plate 52. The stage 50 moves along the 1st guide shaft 53 when the stage 50 is moved in the direction x. Part of a belt 58 is fixed to the stage 50 and when the stage 50 is moved in the direction x, the belt 58 is driven. The rotation of a roller 56 is prohibited upon conduction of electricity to an electromagnetic brake 60, by which the movement of the stage 50 in the direction x is prohibited.
