PURPOSE:To improve the operation efficiency in on-line of its own station and an opposite station by providing an affirmative or negative response function being a part of a protocol to a line adaptor and functioning it separately from an on-line program. CONSTITUTION:When a CA detects an incoming signal from an opposite station, the CA informs the incoming to a CPU by using an interruption signal. When the on-line program is in READY state, the incoming interruption is received. The program commands the line connection to the CA. On the other hand, a timer supervisory is attained from the said interruption to the line connection command and when no command is given during a prescribed time, the CA makes line connection to attain communication state. The CA applies sequentialy buffering to a memory in the CA for a transmitted TEXT from the opposite station. The response to the opposite station is attained by an ACK or an NAK. The line is disconnected by the EOT reception after the final TEXT and the preceding interruption is recorded again to the on-line program after line disconnection.
