PURPOSE:The titled preventive comprising a specific organogermanium compound as a main agent. CONSTITUTION:A preventive for cold syndrome for patients of pneumoconiosis, containing a compound shown by the formula I (A and B are lower alkyl such as methyl, ethyl, etc.; R is atom of A or B or group or combination of two groups; X is O or N) as a main agent. The compound shown by the formula I is generally colorless and transparent crystal, and its dosage form is tablet, capsule, powder, etc. The compound shown by the formula I as an active ingredient is obtained by adding a compound shown by the formula II to a compound shown by the formula III to give a trichlorogermylpropionic acid derivative shown by the formula IV, and hydrolyzing the Ge-Cl bond of the derivative.
