PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a joining state by forming an adhesive layer of glass with a low fusion point over the entire abutting surface of a magnetic core half body on its back-gap side, fusing and caking the adhesive layer, and thus joining a couple of core half bodies. CONSTITUTION:The core blocks 1 and 3 are jointed together by laminating glass substrates 1' and 37 and magnetic layers 1a and 3a. A wedgelike winding groove 2 is formed continuously in one core block1 lengthwise closely to the surface side where a magnetic recording medium slides. Glass with a low fusion point is sputtered on joining surfaces 8 and 8' of the rear parts (back gap side) of the blocks 1 and 3 to form adhesive layers 9 previously. The blocks 1 and 3 are placed abutting on each other and a glass rod 5 as a caking agent is inserted into the tip part of the groove 2 to perform temporary fixation. The glass rod is heated while pressed and then the adhesive layer 9 and glass rod 5 fuse to join the blocks 1 and 3 completely after cooling. The blocks are cut into magnetic cores 7, thereby improving the reliability of the jointing state. |
