FORM WIDTH DETECTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enable the width of a form to be detected continuously with accuracy by employing an electric slide rheostat as a detecting element of the width of the form. CONSTITUTION:A left side guide and a right side guide 5 and 6 for a form are allowed to come close or part separately by means of the rotation of a pinion gear 2 which is meshed with toothed racks 3 and 4. The toothed racks 3 and 4 are guided by a guide holes 3A and 4A. When the form is set in a place between the left side guide and the right side guide 5 and 6, the position of the left and right toothed racks 3 and 4 are determined unconditionally by the width of the form. Accordingly, the position of a slider of an electric slide rheostat which is connected with a slide resistance connector 9 that is fixed on the stated position of the toothed racks 3 and 4, is unconditionally determined base on the width of the form. Accordingly, this configuration enables the width of the form to be detected continuously with accuracy (indentical to the accuracy of the electric slide rheostat).
