PURPOSE:To decrease the variance in emission luminance and to improve the efficiency of exposing and scanning by attaching exposing heads to a moving member which moves in a specified direction and returns to the original position and exposing and scanning a photosensitive body while moving the heads. CONSTITUTION:The exposing and scanning to the photosensitive body are alternately executed by the exposing heads 12, 13 by moving a timing belt 11 in an arrow direction while moving continuously a photosensitive belt 1 at an equal speed in the arrow direction. The direction where and LED array 15a is arranged coincides with the moving direction of the belt 1 and is in the direction perpendicular to the advancing direction of the belt 1 by the head 12 or 13 as shown by the white arrow while the head 12 or 13 is in the state of exposing and scanning the belt 1. The moving speed of the belts 1 and 11 is determined by the recording speed in this case. The head 13 is brought to the position for starting the next exposing and scanning when the head 12 ends the exposing and scanning. The exposing and scanning are thus repeatedly executed.
