CHARACTER DISPLAY HAVING SCROLL AREA SPECIFYING FUNCTION

PURPOSE:To display the scroll of a specific display item specified in an optional area of a display screen by setting the optional area on a character display itself as a scroll area. CONSTITUTION:When a scroll area specifying command is inputted from a computer through a computer interface circuit part 16, the area is stored in a RAM8 after checking that the area is included in a range of a display part 15. The succeeding input is written on a VRAM12 (refresh memory) and a display part controller 10 converts the contents of the VRAM12 into a display dot development by a character generator 13 independently of a CPU5. The dot development is converted into a serial signal by a parallel/serial converter 14 and the serial signal is transferred and displayed to/on a display part 15.
