PURPOSE:Coal as a feedstock is compression-molded and subjected to dry distilla tion in the furnace, as it is allowed to move to enable continuous production of coke of good quality safely in high producibility. CONSTITUTION:Coal is compression-molded continuously into continuous lengths near the wall surface of the furnace chamber or they are cut in an appropriate length. The resultant molded coal is sent into the dry distillation furnace and dry distillation is carried out, as the molded coal is allowed to move in order and out of the furnace whereby coke is continuously obtained. The distillation furnace may be any of a bed-moving or a stationary bed type.
