PURPOSE:To obtain a hard corrosion-resistant alumite alloy which is golden- colored by subjecting an Al-Zn alloy base metal to an anodic electrolysis for a short period in a dilute sulfuric acid soln. by using AC current. CONSTITUTION:The Al-Zn alloy base metal is manufactured by fusing about 5-10% Zn to Al. The base metal is subjected to the anodic electrolysis in about 8-10% dilute sulfuric acid soln. by conducting about 10-15V AC power source thereto for a short period of about 2-3min. The alloy base metal colors successively to a golden color during the treatment. The base metal has the matte golden color and stabilizes when said metal is pulled from the soln. The golden-colored alumite alloy hardly wears even after long-term use and has the mechanical strength at which the removal of the film is hardly admitted. Since said alloy has excellent workability and corrosion resistance, the alloy is applicable to mechanical parts for rotation, sliding movement, impulsive contact, etc., as well as exterior products, etc.
