Coloured aq. bleach comprises (1) O2 or Cl2 bleaching agent and (2) a colouring agent in aq. medium. (2) is 0.005-10 wt.% of a coloured polymer latex consisting of a copolymer of hydrophobic monomer (I) with a reactive copolymerisable monomer (II) contg. a chromophore. Esp. (2) is used at 0.001-1 wt.% and component (1) is pref. an alkali metal hypochlorite. - Pref. (I) is styrene (opt. 1-4C alkyl or monohalo substd.), (meth)acrylate or vinyl ester, and is capable of undergoing emulsion or suspension polymerisation. In (II), the copolymerisable gp. is vinyl or isopropenyl; esp. it is a copolymerisable deriv. of a dye contg. NH2 or OH gps.
