PURPOSE:The titled extinguisher that has a plurality of hoppers for charging red-heated coke and a plurality of coke outlets corresponding to individual hoppers whereby a plurality of red-heated coke can be simultaneously treated to recover heat. CONSTITUTION:Red-heated coke 2 is fed on a rotating ring grate 6 where the red-heated coke is brought into contact with a coolant to effect extinguishment and cooling of coke 2 and recover heat from the heated coolant wherein a plurality of hopper 13, 14 for charging red-heated coke 2 are set on the grate 6. Simultaneously, a plurality of coke outlets 15, 15 are opened corresponding to individual hoppers 13, 14.
