The mechanism is for protection against unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, esp, suiting a caravan or trailer. It comprises a locking bolt (7) arranged on a non-rotatable part (1) of each wheel (4, 5) suspension and operable from inside the vehicle e.g. mechanically, hydraulically or electrically. The bolt moves in the axial wheel direction, the respective wheel rims (5) are provided with a number of circumferentially equi-spaced projections (6) of which one is blocked when the bolt is in its extended position.
