PURPOSE:To process an external character font group which is highest in the frequency of use continuously at the same response time with an internal character font group by collecting use histories of external fonts in an external storage device at specific intervals. CONSTITUTION:A character font retrieval program 7 retrieves an external character code LRU table 31 so as to search for a corresponding character font when an external character is generated, and accesses an external character processing program 9 unless it is found. The external processing program 9 loads the character font in an external character font area 10 from an external device and updates the contents of the external character code LRU table 31. Further, the external character processing program 9 gathers characters in the updated external character code LRU table 31 and information on use histories in the initial load information storage area 32 in the external storage device 12. |
