NEW MATERIAL:A chroman compound shown by the formula (R is pyridylcarbonyl, or phenylaminocarbonyl). EXAMPLE:2-(2,2,5,7,8-Pentamethyl-6-chromanyl)-isobutyl N-phenyl-carbamate. USE:A cholesterol-lowering agent. A remedy for hypercholesterolemia, @?arterio sclerosis, atherosclerosis, circulatory system disorder of brain, disorder of coronaria and disorder of peripheral nervous system. PREPARATION:For example, 2-(2,2,5,7,8-pentamethyl-6-chromanyloxy)-isobutyric acid is converted into 2-(2,2,5,7,8-pentamethyl-6-chromanyloxo)-isobutanol, which then reacted with phenyl isocyanate, to give an example compound. |
