PURPOSE:To fix surely a spherical lens to a glass tube and to prevent the loss of the function of the spherical face by consisting a rod lens of the spherical lens and the glass tube having the inside diameter smaller slightly than the diameter of the spherical lens and joining the spherical lens to one end of the glass tube. CONSTITUTION:The spherical lens 6 is pressed to one end of the glass tube 8 having the inside diameter slightly smaller than the diameter thereof and is adhered and fixed thereto by an adhesive agent 7 coated to the outside of the peripheral tangent thereof. The glass tube 10 for an optical fiber having the same outside diameter as the outside diameter of the tube 8 is joined to the other end of said tube and an optical fiber 9 is inserted and held to the inside of the tube 10. The rod lens and the tube 10 for the fiber constituted in the above-mentioned manner are further disposed to a V-groove 11 formed atop a V-groove block 13 and are adhered and fixed by an adhesive agent 12 so as to enclose the lens and tube. The optical axis alignment of the spherical lens and the optical fiber is thus made easy without spoiling the spherical face function of the spherical lens.
