PRODUCTION OF FIBER MOLDING AND FIBER REINFORCED COMPOSITE METALLIC MATERIAL PRODUCED BY USING FIBER MOLDING

PURPOSE:To produce efficiently a fiber molding in a short period by introducing an opening liquid consisting essentially of short fibers into a filter and molding the 1st fiber assemblage then introducing an opening liquid consisting essentially of whiskers thereon and molding the 2nd fiber assemblage. CONSTITUTION:The opening liquid 2 consisting essentially of the short fibers is put into the filter 7 having a filtration surface 6 of the prescribed shape, by which the liquid is filtered and the 1st fiber assemblage 1a is molded. Short alumina fibers, etc. are used for the short fibers and the diameter thereof is made 1-20mu. The liquid 2 is formed of water, binder, etc. The aperture of the surface 6 of the filter 7 is formed to 221-535mu average diameter. The opened fibers 4 consisting essentially of the whiskers are put into the 1st fiber molding 1 and are filtered to form the 2nd fiber assemblage 3a united with the 1st fiber assemblage 1 via a mixed layer 5. Silicon carbide, etc. are used for the whiskers and the diameter thereof is made 0.1-1mu and the length thereof about 50-200mu. The stable fiber molding is thus produced.
