PURPOSE:To produce a shape steel having excellent tensile strength while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance by controlling the extradition temp. of the billet from a heating furnace and the temp. at the final mill outlet of finish rolling in the stage of producing the shape steel by hot rolling of an austenitic stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:The billet prior to hot rolling is taken out of the heating furnace at 1,150 deg.C extraction temp. or above from the furnace in the stage of producing the shape steel by hot rolling of the austenitic stainless steel billet of SUS304, etc. The hot rolling is ended by controlling the temp. of the shape steel at the outlet of the final mill in the stage of subjecting such billet to the finish rolling after rough hot rolling and intermediate hot rolling to a 800-900 deg.C range. The stainless shape steel having the excellent mechanical strength such as tensile strength without spoiling the excellent corrosion resistance, etc., intrinsic to the austenitic stainless steel.
