PURPOSE:To manufacture a nonmagnetic spring having superior elasticity by subjecting a Cu alloy contg. specified percentages of Mn, Ni and Cr to soln. heat treatment, cold working and aging under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:An alloy consisting of 15-35wt.% Mn, 15-35wt.% Ni, >1.5-8.0wt% Cr and the balance Cu with accompanying impurities is subjected to soln. heat treatment at 700-1000&oC. It is cold worked at >=10% rate, formed into a spring by inverted working, and aged at 350-500&oC. A nonmagnetic spring suitable for use as a counter spring for a magnetic head is obtd.
