PURPOSE:To facilitate construction and to decrease a construction time, by a method wherein the gradients of the tapered parts of a joint and an original pipe are both set to a given value, and a non-contact part between the tapered part and the forward ends of the pipes is formed. CONSTITUTION:Original pipes are joined together through insertion of them into a joint 6, and tapered parts 5 are formed on the both sides of the inner peripheral surface of the joint 6. A tapered part 4, having the same gradient as that of the tapered part 5, is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the end of the original pipe 1, and the tapered parts 4 and 5 are machined so as to have given corseness. The upper and the lower original pipes 1 are joined together in a manner that a gap is provided at a central part when the original pipes 1 are inserted into the joint 6, and a non-contact part therebetween is formed at the portion, located beyond a contact point, of the joint. This extremely facilitates installation of the pipes is site, permits shortening of an installation time, and allows the joint to have flexural offset yield strength equavalent or superior to that of the original pipe. |
