PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in picture quality and to shorten the circuit holding time by giving numbers to the stored telegrams for control and controlling and editing a transfer telegram with addition of an address, an additional telegram and a number for transmission to a transfer destination. CONSTITUTION:A transfer request including a control number and an address of a transfer telegram is indicated to a facsimile terminal and then received by a signal analysis part 1. The part 1 analyzes this request and informs the reception of an additional telegram to a telegram reception part 2 and stores the control number of the telegram in a transfer telegram control number memory part 3 of a telegram editing/transmitting part 6. The part 2 receives the additional telegram and informs it to a picture information control part 7. A control number is given to the additional telegram and stored in the part 7, and this control number is also stored in an additional telegram control number memory part 4. A telegram processing part 5 reads the picture information corresponding to the control numbers stored in both memory parts 3 and 4 out of the part 7 and edits the telegram to send it to a due address. This prevents the deterioration of picture quality due to the transfer and shorten the circuit holding time.
