<p>PURPOSE:To enable to apply an eddy current brake to a vehicle driven by an induction motor by converting the AC output of a transformer into a DC and supplying it to the exciting coil of an eddy current brake. CONSTITUTION:An induction motor controller 14 of an M vehicle 2 obtains power through a transformer 10 from an AC trolley wire, AC/DC converts and DC/AC converts and applies an AC according to the speed reference of the vehicle to an induction motor 15 to travel. When the vehicle is braked during traveling, the eddy current controller 17 of a T vehicle 3 obtains power from the tertiary winding 13 of the transformer 10, AC/DC converts it and supplies it to an exciting coil 6. At this time, a relatively low current is flowed during high speed traveling of the vehicle, the current value is increased as the vehicle speed gradually decreases, and a brake force generated in the brake is increased.</p> |
