PURPOSE:To restore an original signal easily on the basis of a signal of a memory device by saving a signal including the original signal obtained from a section from an erasing head to a testing head in the memory device at the detecting of defective recording. CONSTITUTION:When defective signal or the like is detected, signal erasing from a recording medium 1 is stopped and the original signal recorded in the recording medium in a section from a reproducing head 2 to the testing head 5 is written in the memory device 20. During the stopped status, correction such as the removal of a substance adhered to a recording head 4 is executed, the recording medium 1 is rewound to head the position where recording is failed, and a switch 19 is turned from said position to rerecord the signal written in the memory device 20. Consequently, the original signal is restored in the recording medium 1 and the restored recording medium 1 is rewound again, so that processing such as the replacement or the like of a voice signal can be retried. |
