PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous printing, by detecting a reference position by a home position sensor and judging whether a type wheel is normally driven on the basis of the detected result. CONSTITUTION:When key input is performed from a keyboard, character input data is stored in RAM12 by CPU10 and converted to the number of objective type positions to be stored in RAM12. Subsequently, the difference between the present number of type printings stored in RAM12 and the number of the objective type positions stored in the area C of RAM12 is operated by CPU10. A type wheel 5 is rotated so as to step by one spoke and the present type position is renewed while CPU10 discriminates whether the number of the present type positions is 0 (reference position) and, if 0, the output of a home position sensor 13 is turned ON and rotation is succeeded. At the time of OFF, and alarm 17 is operated and printing is stopped. |
