PURPOSE:To eliminate operators' confusion, by performing a control so as to make the prohibition signal valid as outputted when symbol display is to shift to the prohibition area from the non-prohibition area but invalid as outputted when the symbol display is to start from the prohibition area. CONSTITUTION:A prohibition signal control section 102 is connected to a control section 100 connected to a waveform generating section 24 and a detection signal, namely, a prohibition signal is inputted thereto 102 from a prohibition area detecting section 26. The prohibition signal control section 102 operates to makes the prohibition signal valid as outputted when symbol display is to shift to the prohibition area from the non-prohibition area but invalid as outputted when symbol display is to start from the prohibition area and outputs a signal to the effect to the control section 100. This eliminates operators' confusion otherwise caused when the focus of the display is shifted while enabling effective utilization of information.
